About D. Wayne Dworsky

D. Wayne Dworsky has been composing science fiction and horror stories since he was nine years old. He recalls hearing stories of the old country from coal miners who worked the barges along the Monongahela River in Southwestern Pennsylvania. The smoked filled bars gave him a glimpse of how these miners endured their jobs.

From his early twenties he has traveled all over the world in 23 countries and all 50 states in the US. He's hiked the Alpse, The Rockies, Adirondikes and The Catskills. In his quest to seek perfection in the cosmos, he's searched the Earth for the most amazing, exotic, beautiful and enduring truths through his science and technology interests, which include Earth science, meteorology, climatology, geology, astronomy, cosmology and mathematics. He's written over 100 professional book reviews, has authored more than 30 feature articles and podcasts an Internet radio talk show, Alpha Centauri & Beyond. The show talks about science and science literature, science fiction literature and science fiction movies.

Now D. Wayne Dworsky enjoys the platforms that support his literary work in a monthly column, book reviews, feature articles and blogs.

He's climbed Grand Teton in Teton National Park in Jackson Hole, Wyoming in 1983, the Matterhorn in Zermatt, Switzerland in 1985 and most of the established technical rock climbing routes in the Shawangunks in New York State from 1982 to 1985. In addition to his daring pursuits, he's an accomplished pilot of more than 15 years.

Alpha Centauri & Beyond

Blog: The New View on Science and Science Fiction
By D. Wayne Dworsky,
Posted: May 10, 2013

Alpha Centauri & Beyond is about science and science fiction. Host, D. Wayne Dworsky and Co-Host, Melissa Macfie discuss issues that modern science faces as well as science fiction novel plots, themes and special effects in motion pictures. Each show features a separate theme. Guests on the show include science experts and science fiction writers. The show will air biweekly at 8 pm ET. Listeners are invited to call into the live show at 646-378-0539 to ask questions or make comments about the show's contents or theme.

Each show will feature a different theme, starting with Mars. In addition to a fresh theme for each episode, we will discuss a pivotal event. These pivotal events illuminate a particular scientific breakthough and/or launch a dynamic, new way of factoring science into science fiction literature and science fiction movies. Plus, each pitoval event will try to extract how some important science fiction phenomenon influenced science.

Alpha Centauri & Beyond

Blog: Supporting Science Literature
By D. Wayne Dworsky,

This promo supports science literature, which includes the pod casts of Alpha Centauri & Beyond radio talk show. I hope to bring listeners up to date with all the news concerning the exploration of Mars. This new segment of the show will highlight new activities in the NASA program, recent books in science and technology as well as the latest flicks that enjoy a wide audience. I hope that continued public interest in technological pursuits will inspire a sustained interest in scientific and technologic developments.

We are at a crossroads in space exploration. We can only imagine what went through the minds of those great explorers such as Columbus and Magellan as they gazed out at the vast unknown. And again, we stand at the threshold of a new frontier, bravely daring each other to take the first steps into that vast unknown. However, unlike our predecessors, we have a significant technological advantage since we have powerful devices that can provide us with huge amounts of information and guide us to a more predictable outcome.
